JSOK FILMS is a NYC based film production company founded by Jason Sokoloff (JSOK) in 2007 to create original independent films and related works.

Above all else we strongly believe story is the foundation of every film!

Shared with our love for New York City JSOK FILMS targets the creation of storylines that speaks of human truths and personal character studies. Combined with these rich characters, fresh dialogue, and original, compelling story lines our purpose is to collaborate with talented writers, actors, directors and many artists along the way to make high quality films of all genres. Whether it's comedy or drama we work to produce films that are entertaining, thought provoking, exciting, and memorable.

In the end our goal is to give back to filmmakers and filmgoers alike those great experiences we all share at the movies while adding NEW ones too.

Jason Sokoloff (JSOK) is an award-winning filmmaker whose films have appeared in over 50 festivals. He is a native New Yorker who grew up against the gritty urban backdrop of Brooklyn and Queens as a one-time graffiti artist, later becoming a successful art director and seasoned veteran of the city’s infamously tough stand-up comedy circuit before attending New York’s University’s Tisch School of Arts, Graduate Film Program.

His ten plus years of experience in the entertainment industry have encompassed projects of various sizes as a Producer, Line Producer, UPM, and Director. With a focus on producing and directing, Jason garnered valuable experience in creating boards and budgets in EP Scheduling and Budgeting, running day-to-day operations on set, negotiating contracts, dealing with agents, lawyers, SAG, Teamsters, IATSE, local unions, and seeing a film through preproduction, principle photography and post production.

Jason was also the producer/director of a comedy pilot that was featured in the Montreal Comedy Festival. His short film, “Treasure of Riverside Park,” was featured at Lincoln Center and also screened as an official WINNER of REEL 13 (channel 13, PBS, New York), playing at 17 festivals in the states and abroad in all. He was the line producer of the feature film “Heterosexuals” and a director/producer for the successful web series, "50ToDeath.com." His last short film, "Mr. Brooklyn," played at over 20 festivals and won "Best Student Narrative Film" at the 33rd Carolina Film and Video Festival, "Best Fiction Award" at the Open APPerture Short Film Festival, “Best Short” at the Philadelphia Independent Film Festival and "The Audience Award" at the Marble Festival of arts Film Festival.

This summer, Jason formed “Funky Town Films,” a film prodcution company with Tai Burkholder, and directed the feature “Urban Myth Comedy Storytelling".

As a strong proponent of independent filmmaking and comedy, Jason’s spirit carries many. He is constantly generating projects and has several TV/films in various stages of development.
