Anthony Jannelli

Anthony Jannelli is a cinematographer and is currently Head of Studies at New York University, Tisch School of the Arts, Graduate Film & Television. A partial list of feature film credits include Philadelphia, Silence of the Lambs, and Something Wild with director Jonathan Demme, New York Stories with Martin Scorsese, and Billy Bathgate with Robert Benton, as well as Independence Day, Ghostbusters II, Three Men and a Baby, and Big , and many others.

His first feature as a director of photography, Longtime Companion, won the 1991 Audience Award at the Sundance Film Festival.

He shot additional photography for the Neil Young concert film Heart of Gold, and for Martin Scorsese's upcoming documentary on the Rolling Stones, Shine A Light . He photographed the pilot and entire first season of Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, and he currently shoots east coast location scenes for the Bruckheimer television series Without A Trace, Cold Case, and CSI NY.

Tony has filmed music videos featuring Michael Jackson, Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, Talking Heads, Bruce Springsteen and Laurie Anderson, as well as hundreds of television commercials.

A Member of the International Cinematographers Guild and the Directors Guild of America, he has been an instructor at the Sundance Filmmakers Workshop and the Maine Photographic Workshops for Film and Television.

A professor in cinematography at NYU Graduate Film & Television, Tony became Head of the Cinematography Department in 2005, and was named Head of Graduate Studies in 2007. In 2007, he directed the short film Five Years of Forever .
